The Kiwanis Club of Statesboro would like to welcome ya'll to the 49th edition of the
Ogeechee Fair.  It is with great pleasure and a lot of work that we bring you a week of food,
family fun and entertainment.  As always we will kick off the week with our parade through
downtown Statesboro. T
his year's theme is Agriculture:  The Strength for Recovery.
Participants will be s
tepping off at 5 pm from the Farmers & Merchants Bank on North Main
Street and ending at Wendy's at Fair Road.  Last year's parade did not quite make it due to an ill
timed rain, but we put in an order for clear weather this year and hope to see a large crowd both
marching and lining the streets.

This year  we have put together what we think is a super line-up of entertainment and
education.  We feature our usual array of 4-H & FFA, arts & crafts, commercial and educational
displays, syrup boiling, grist mill, livestock and other interactive and static displays.  The
"Discovering Poultry" exhibit will be at the Old Red Barn.   What's a fair without food?  Whether
it is Polish sausages, cotton candy or good old pancakes it is all here.
 Amusements of America
is
with us again for the 32nd year providing the best midway anywhere.  New entertainment
includes
Pirates of the Colombian Caribbean Aerial High Wire Show, Chase's Racing Pigs
and
Rust and Flame Blacksmith Demonstration.  Bring the whole family.  We will have
something for everyone.
Wrist stamps will be $18 on Tuesday and Thursday.  On Friday
Midnight Madness has been replaced by
Moonlight Madness  Two hours has been added to the
evening so Madness starts at 8 pm Instead of 10 pm.  It will continue until 1 pm. The price of
Moonlight Madness is
$15 per wrist stamp plus $5 admission.  Saturday wrist stamps will be
$20 and are good from opening until midnight.  Also on Saturday the is a Super Special in
Kiddie Land.  Designed for families with small children all rides in
Kiddie Land will be $1 per
ride from 1 pm until 3 pm.

The Kiwanis Club only holds one fund raiser a during the year.  All money raised during the
week is given back to the community and the communities of our
seven participating counties,
Bulloch, Bryan, Candler, Evans, Tattnall, Jenkins & Screven counties.  Because of your support
we are able to give back over $200,000 each year to deserving charitable projects such as :
Ogeechee Area Hospice, Boys & Girls Club, Ronald McDonald House, Girls & Boys Scouts, 4-H,
FFA, Special Olympics, Law Enforcement Groups and EMS, Red Cross, along with several
scholarship programs and much, much more.
The first contribution for the year will be made by
you, the public on opening night.  We have deemed that
"FOOD BANK NIGHT".  The price of
admission is one (1) canned good or $1 per person.  Last year was a huge success.
Prize money
and premiums on exhibits during the week will total over $20,000.  To achieve this goal, many
volunteer man hours are spent each year from the close of one fair to the opening of the next
.
We wish
to bring our citizens a safe, family atmosphere where we can all become "kids" again
reminiscing of times gone by and dreaming of things to be are all part of the fair experience.

We appreciate your attendance and support of our fair.  Kiwanis members, easily
recognizable by their bright yellow jackets or shirts
, are always ready to assist you and your
family while on the fair grounds.  They will be scattered all over beginning with parking, selling
admission tickets, cooking pancakes and maintaining a secure grounds.  Kiwanians are all
volunteers and are all here each day from opening to closing because we believe in Kiwanis.  We
are committed to making a difference in our community.

Thank you for your continuing patronage and support.  Remember that the reason we can
all enjoy this type activity is due to the men and women of our Armed Forces who are fighting
daily for this and all our freedoms
