The Kiwanis Club would like to invite you to a party as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Kiwanis Ogeechee Fair. We
promise six days of fun, excitement and good food. We are proud to announce expansions of our Midway and Heritage Village
to make your visit to our party even more enjoyable than in the past.
The celebration will kick off with a Grand Parade on Monday stepping off at 5:00 pm from the Farmers and Merchants Bank on
North Main Street and ending at College Plaza. This will be the biggest and most exciting parade ever and an event that old
and young will enjoy.
The Fair officially opens at 6 pm Monday night. Admission on Monday will be your chance to give directly to the community
by donating one (1) can of food or one (1) dollar. All donations will go to the Statesboro Food Bank. The Pancake House will
be open and serving as always delicious pancakes and sausage, but that is only the start. Hamburgers, hotdogs, fried chicken,
candy apples, cotton candy, funnel cakes, deep fried twinkies and the list goes on and on to tease your senses. Visit the food
vendors on the Midway or support local organizations from all over the area.
Eat first or head straight to the midway or our expanded Heritage Village. In the Heritage Village you get a chance to step back
in time to visit the Country Store, Blacksmith Shop, Grist Mill and Bee Cabin. Visit the Honey Shop inside to watch bees make
honey. If honey is not sweet enough stroll over the Syrup Boiler to watch cane juice become cane syrup. Step back in time at
the Aldrich House to the mid 1800's. The pirates are back this year with a little different show. Chase's Racing Swimming Pigs
will return for the nightly race for Oreo cookies. These cute and lovable bundles of bacon will make you cheer and smile from
ear to ear as they race around the track. Don't forget to stop at the Discovering Poultry display at the Old Red Barn. You may
walk away thinking of Bacon and Eggs.
If your first stop is the Midway you will not be disappointed. No expense has been spared as we light up the sky for the 50th
year in a row. For the 33rd year we welcome back the biggest most exciting midway in America. Amusements of America once
more brings the excitement, noise, lights and smiles of wholesome American entertainment to the Fairgrounds of Statesboro.
You will walk away glad you came to the party.
The Party does not stop with food, Heritage Village or the lights of the Midway. It continues with displays in the Main
building with Educational and Commercial displays, 4H-FFA Building full of Mini Booths, The Home Arts and Crafts Building
with crafted items from all over the area. Spend some time in the Livestock Barn to watch area youth work hard to show their
pigs, lambs, goats or calves.
As you enjoy this week long party remember each year the Kiwanis Club of Statesboro contributes to youth programs, law
enforcement, hospice, 4H, FFA, Special Olympics, scholarship programs and many other areas that make every day life in this
area better. Last year the Club gave back over $200,000 to these groups.
It takes work year round to prepare our home for this party. We are proud of the last fifty years and look forward to the next
fifty. We are very excited to have you visit us at the 50th celebration of the
